Beauty And The Beast at Tennessee Performing Arts Center

Beauty and The Beast, the musical, premiered on Broadway back in 1994. There's no reason to lie about this, it was forgotten by the success of the Lion King. Over the years, there have been multiple attempts to put the story back into the premium theater scene. After a successful run in London's West End, and a long tour of Australia, this new version is going on a US tour. One of the stops is going to be in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday 5th November 2025.

In previous versions of the play, the design of the set and the tone of the costumes were both rather dark. This put a lot of emphasis on The Beast character. This current production is taking a completely different approach. The emphasis is more on Belle, as it should be. This time around, the audience is treated to thoughtfully designed props and colorful costumes that burst off the stage. When you combine that with the uplifting soundtrack, you start to see why both the British and Australian audiences loved this revival. Sorry for the spoilers, but the bright entrance that Belle's character and the different members of her French village make, provide the ideal contrast to The Beast's world. What happened in both the UK and Australia was that audiences were incredibly hooked by this point in the story. Things likely won't be any different this evening at Tennessee Performing Arts Center and the entire US tour for that matter. Gaston's entrance and musical number tend to be loved by fans. It's truly Belle that the story revolves around though, and for this US Tour they've hired a great actress for the role. At the end of the night, you'll be singing and dancing as you walk out of Tennessee Performing Arts Center.
